Library Volunteer
With almost 50 years of her life devoted to studying chimpanzees and spreading her messages of conservation and hope to millions around the world, Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE has amassed an enormous amount of books and audio/visual materials from around the world. Here at the Jane Goodall Institute, we are in the process of cataloguing these resources for a potential future Jane Goodall Library and Museum. And we need your help!
We seek a volunteer with experience in information management or library science to help us build and maintain a private library for Dr. Goodall’s personal books and audio/visual materials. Our goal is to achieve seamless integration of electronic and physical records, and to make them more accessible to the JGI staff. The books are being catalogued using the Library of Congress system.
This is a very exciting opportunity for you to get involved and help us create a “physical history” of Dr. Goodall and her work, and the efforts of so many people around the world who share our mission.
