With a gift to the Chimpanzee Guardianship program you help the youngest victims of the devastating illegal bushmeat trade—orphaned chimpanzees.

When these chimps are brought by authorities to JGI’s Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo, they’re traumatized, malnourished, and often very sick. They’ve had a traumatic start to life but, with the support of people like you, they can be nurtured back to health and happiness.

The chimps at Tchimpounga sleep in spacious enclosures and have large areas of secured forest and grasslands to roam by day. By exploring the natural habitat together, they develop the social skills necessary for their well-being.

By becoming a Chimp Guardian, your support will enable our caregivers to provide love, food, medical care, protection, and a supportive environment to the more than 140 chimpanzees in our care.
